Finally: Interlink

I have mentioned in my last journals to some issues that related to Interlink institute in Valparaiso University. Some people might ask: why you don’t praise them? Why you are writing issues about them? Why you don’t show positive view of them instead of negative view? I have to say; there are no doubt about there programs, or teachers, or treatment. Otherwise, the praise doesn’t benefit them, but the correction might help them to avoid some negative issue that can’t reduce its value. I’m frank and I don’t like to say as people say: every thing is O.K!

The forth issue that interlink has some activities to improve our language like movies, TOEFL preparation, visiting and others. I confessed, some of activities are beneficial, otherwise, what kind of benefit of watching movie in Interlink? Why do we have to come to Interlink to watch movies while we can watch it in our home? Especially while there is no specific think that might help us to improve our language. I think Interlink has to change his policy about it, and they have to take student’s opinion, not like dictator’s deeds!! I’m sorry to say that but this is truth, and I have to say it without compliment.

The third issue about Interlink policy that they don’t care about English grammar in their classes rooms regardless some teachers don’t have enough information about grammar. I was wondered, how can I know to write very well with good grammar without knowing about it? How can teachers destroy our grades because of English grammar although without teaching us about it? Is this fair?

I have written in last journal about Interlink institute in Valparaiso University then I will continue to write about it. Other issue that Interlink have accepted many student form same nationality, and I think it was strategic wrong. They have rights to earn money without doubt, but they have to be careful with educational environment that has been affected by this wrong. Many students of same nationality they are speaking their own language in room classes without consideration of other students form their nationality who want to learn in English environment.

Interlink is one of institute of English language that gives intensive courses in English. I have being studying at Interlink seven months, so I have some comments on it that can’t reduce its value. The first issue that time of studying is too short and can’t be sufficient for students who desire to enter university if he doesn’t have self-study. We hope Interlink will change its policy like other institutes that have eight hours of study.

Wedding in our culture

Wedding in each society has special important. We have as Saudi society as part of the world our culture in preparing for wedding and for reception that give high priority for the guests. In the beginning we invite guests, who related from the bride or groom bride, after that we contract with good restaurant to make good dinner. Before all previous steps we reserved hall that specialized for these purposes. In wedding day, the family of bride has to come early, before at least five hours, and then they welcome guests who come to the hall with wide smile and perfect perfume that present to them. After while groom bride will come, with his family, in excellent car to the hall. Then he will go to his place that prepared for him already. After that the whole guests will come to congratulate him. Last step, when the father or old brother of groom bride invites guests with high generous voice to eat dinner.

Old and Modern Gangs

I think there are many of our fathers and grandfathers who remember many thing while fear period. There were a lot of crimes, murders, and robbery. Although in these periods the criminals had some moral, compassion, and noble. Also, in old time there is no inhuman ways to kill or steal. Finally, without excuse for them, they usually did that for their need not for other reason. Otherwise, now there are organized gangs, inhuman ways to steal or kill. They spreading fear into societies by their bad action.

Our stocks market

We are suffering in Saudi Arabia now because of our stocks market. There are now, without doubt, no family didn’t cause by failure of it. There are a lot of Saudis they died, lost their wealth, and they lost their houses when they, without reasonable reason, entered the market while some dealers, who didn’t have compassion or mercy, made some jerks in the market that cause fear and worry.

Good friends

When you choose your friend, you have to consider a lot about it. People will describe you according to your friend; if he is a good friend they will praise you and vise versa.
In our culture as Moslems, there are a lot of inheriting of wise words and assimilated that talk about importance of choosing good friends and how you can deal with them. If we are thinking about our reputation, we have to work hard while choosing our friends.

The Old Man and The Sea

The old man and the sea is one of Ernest Hemingway’s works that took a high position in American literature in the modern period. Ernest Hemingway is one of the famous authors in the world in English writing. I have read this entire book in Arabic and in English editions. In my opinion, because of my language, I can’t recognize the distinction of writing even for famous writer. Although when I read to famous or normal writer I can’t discriminate which the best of them. Coming back to our topic, The Old Man and The Sea is good fiction, but it was focused on one problem in the whole of fiction. Otherwise, there is no movement in this fiction, if it is correct figuratively, just between the old man and the boy, he didn’t include other characters in this story. Moreover, the most of fiction is concentrated on mental dialogue in the old man’s mind. This is my opinion, but I’m sure in English view it is not true view because of my different view that comes from other literary environment .
